A Career Rooted in Curiosity and Care
the longer story
I grew up by the sea in a small coastal town in Norway — curious, driven, and endlessly fascinated by how people live, heal, and connect. I began studying medicine and worked in palliative care to fund my travels, a contrast that taught me about both vitality and fragility. Those early years witnessing the end of life while chasing the fullness of it — shaped everything that came after.
Yoga arrived when I was sixteen, encouraged by my mother and resisted at first. My body was athletic but aching; something inside me was already speaking through pain. Years later, after studying and teaching across India, Australia, and Indonesia, I found myself chasing health through movement, adventure, and curiosity — yet quietly losing connection to myself.
In my mid-twenties, after years of unexplained pain, I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and adenomyosis. Between four surgeries, hormone treatments, and countless consultations, I was studying osteopathic medicine and teaching yoga at night whilst also balancing being a travel writer. Surrounded by the language of health & adventure, yet feeling far from well nor alive. That paradox forced me to reimagine everything I knew about the body, head and heart. I began to see that healing wasn’t about choosing between Western medicine or holistic philosophy — but understanding how the two could coexist.
The academic in me dove into physiology, neurology, and biomechanics; the seeker in me turned to breath, awareness, and stillness. Slowly, the two worlds began to merge. My health improved, my curiosity deepened, and what would later become The Body, Head & Heart Method started to take form — a framework that aligned physical structure, mental clarity, and emotional connection.
At thirty, I left a comfortable life in Norway to return to the islands that had once changed me. In Bali, I led wellness programs for thousands of women from around the world, combining osteopathic understanding with movement and mindfulness. Later, on the remote island of Sumba, I became part of one of the world’s most renowned wellness destinations — guiding guests, executives, and athletes through deeply personal journeys of restoration and renewal.
Alongside my clinical and retreat work, I’ve spoken internationally on The Science of Self-Love — sharing the intersection between neuroscience, embodiment, and emotional wellbeing. Those talks, like my practice, aim to remind people that awareness and compassion are not luxuries, but foundations for health.
Those years taught me that purpose can heal but also deplete; that passion without presence burns as easily as stress. It reminded me that balance — between effort and ease, giving and receiving, science and soul — is not something we find once, but something we live again and again.
